LOOMIS and Texas Dairy Queen Operators’ Council Launch Summer Blizzard Campaign with “The Blizzard Song.”

Just in time for the Texas heat, DQ restaurants in Texas are launching a playful, music-driven campaign to spotlight the brand’s iconic Blizzard® Treat as the perfect reward for surviving everyday life. Titled “Your Blizzard Song,” the new summer campaign celebrates the realities of “adulting” with a wink—and a sweet treat.

Created by longtime Texas Dairy Queen Operators’ Council agency partner LOOMIS, the campaign builds on the legacy of the well-known “That’s What I Like About Texas” jingle authored by LOOMIS more than two decades ago. This summer, LOOMIS introduces a fresh, lighthearted tune that taps into the universal truth that adulthood is full of chores, errands, and obligations—and every one of them is worthy of a Blizzard Treat.

“The Blizzard Treat is one of the brand’s greatest treasures and is celebrating its 40th anniversary,” said Mike Sullivan, LOOMIS CEO. “It’s a distinctive product that’s brought people a lot of joy the last four decades. We get to amplify that feeling with a campaign that’s pure fun.”

“This campaign hits all the right notes—literally and figuratively. Texans have grown up with the DQ jingle that sticks with you, and LOOMIS understands the magic behind that. This musical twist brings a fresh energy to a new generation of fans while celebrating the Blizzard Treat that everyone loves.”
— Lou Romanus, CEO of Texas Dairy Queen Operators’ Council

Launching Memorial Day and running through August 31, the integrated campaign includes multiple :30 TV and radio spots, all featuring the new playful tune. The production captured three TV spots in just two days using advanced LED technology—bringing the vibrant humor and relatability of the concept to life.

“You see the trend in ‘little treat culture’ as consumers’ emotional response to today’s climate,” added Tina Tackett, Executive Creative Director at LOOMIS. “DQ restaurants in Texas are naturally poised to satisfy that need for daily rewards, so we simply leaned in.”

In addition to TV and radio, the campaign is supported by a series of activations, including:

• A Summer Survival Kit PR package,
• Strategic influencer partnerships, and
• A fan-forward giveaway designed to drive online engagement and amplify the campaign’s playful message.

“This campaign hits all the right notes—literally and figuratively,” said Lou Romanus, CEO of Texas Dairy Queen Operators’ Council. “Texans have grown up with the DQ jingle that sticks with you, and LOOMIS understands the magic behind that. This musical twist brings a fresh energy to a new generation of fans while celebrating the Blizzard Treat that everyone loves.”

Whether you just paid bills, did laundry, mowed the lawn, or managed your inbox—DQ invites Texans to sing along this summer and treat themselves with the Summer Blizzard Menu. From new creations like Dipped Strawberry Cheesecake and Mixing Bowl Mashup to iconic favorites like S’mores, Cotton Candy, and Confetti Cake, there are lots of tasty reasons to say, “That’s what I like about Texas!”
