No, Really Santa…We’ve Been Good

Dear Santa,

Greetings from The LOOMIS Agency in Dallas! Hope you and Mrs. Claus are well, rested, and have gotten your flu shots. Nasty variants this year. Just so you know, we have our cactus up, our boots hung by the fireplace, and there’s a fresh bowl of guacamole waiting for your arrival. Well, it will be. We didn’t want it to get all brown and gross before you got here (you can only eat so many Santa cookies, right?).

As we hope you are well aware – you being the ultimate purveyor of the list and all – we’ve been very good this year. From afar, you might think we mean the dozen plus creative trophies we won at various awards shows around the country on behalf of our clients. Not gonna lie – that was very exciting!

But that’s not what we mean. When we say we’ve been good this year, we mean to each other. And, to the people we work with. That is, after all, what really matters.

Santa, if you’ve read our book, you know we’re pretty big fans of company culture here at LOOMIS. Over the course of 20 years now, we’ve worked hard to build a loving, supportive, empowered culture where we look out for each other wherever and however we can. I think that’s a big reason why we keep showing up on the “Best Places To Work” lists and why we keep our people and our clients twice the national average.

Of course, we don’t have to tell you about company culture. If the North Pole was toxic, no way you’re cranking out quality toys and gifts year in and year out. No way your logistics are running like a Swiss watch when the rest of the world’s supply chain is in the tank. Santa, clearly you and your team are rallying around a common purpose and showing up when the world needs a healthy dose of thoughtfulness and holiday cheer. Thanks for that!

When we sat down to write you this letter, we thought long and hard about what we wanted you to bring this year. Assuming, of course we are indeed on the good list, here’s what would make us really happy:

1. More time together.

Santa, now that COVID has ushered in a blended schedule of time at the office and work from home, we really do cherish the time we get to spend together. Zoom calls are convenient and all, but real collaboration is a gift. We hope to have lots more face-to-face time in the coming year.

2. More opportunities to help our clients grow.

Santa, we are so proud to work on and with an amazing roster of challenger brands – we hit the door every morning fired up to help our clients succeed. Helping underdogs grow is why we all got in this crazy business. Having another year to help our challenger brands (and any new ones) shine would be a blessing.

3. More support and solidarity.

Santa, as we mentioned above, we are all about supporting the underdog and a lot of times that includes people, not just clients. I think you would be really proud of the work and awareness our Solidarity Task Force brings to the agency and the conversations it facilitates. We’re always mindful of our diversity and inclusion and thankful our team is working hard to make all lives better.

4. More dogs.

Santa, I know you are partial to reindeer, but dude. You don’t know what you’re missing with the whole dog thing. Sometime in the spring after you’ve recovered from all the deliveries, feel free to drop by the agency and spend a little time with our lovable pack of fluff. Our dogs make every day at the office better and we wouldn’t mind a few more… provided they play well with others, can ignore any pizza sitting out in the open, and know the big stinkies belong OUTSIDE.

5. More great people for the pack.

Santa, we love our team. I mean, we REALLY love the Loomies who make our company what it is. But we’re also all about spreading that love. If you know anyone who’s smart, talented, and committed to great work, we would love to meet them. We had another awesome group of interns this summer who we hope to see again when they graduate. But in the meantime, we’d love to add some new challenger brand champions to our mix.

Santa, we could go on, but we totally get there’s only so much room in the sleigh. The truth is, we’re pretty blessed. And if you want to share some of our gifts with others less fortunate, that’s more than good with us… Except the client thing. We really love taking care of our clients.

Hope you, Rudolph and the other reindeer have a safe trip around the world. We believe in what you’re doing and if you ever need some branding, advertising, or marketing help, you know where we are.

Happy Holidays big guy!
